Stainless steel filter mesh caps are processed from stainless steel woven wire mesh, perforated metal, expanded metal, or multi-layer mesh. They are commonly used as small filtration and protection parts in pumps, valves, pipelines, nozzles, filter assemblies, and industrial equipment.
Compared with flat filter mesh discs, stainless steel filter mesh caps have a three-dimensional cap or cup shape, which provides larger holding space and better coverage for end protection or localized filtration. They can be made by stamping, deep drawing, spot welding, edge wrapping, or welding according to the required shape and installation method.
Kawen manufactures stainless steel filter mesh caps in different materials, mesh counts, diameters, heights, layers, edge types, and custom structures. Products can be made according to drawings, samples, photos, or application requirements.
Material Characteristics
We offer metal filter mesh caps in a range of materials to adapt to different working conditions:
- 304 stainless steel mesh caps are commonly used for general filtration and equipment protection. They are suitable for standard mesh cap structures, stamped caps, and applications where good corrosion resistance and cost control are both important.
- 316 stainless steel mesh caps provide better resistance to chloride and chemical corrosion than 304 stainless steel. They are suitable for filter caps used in chemical processing, oil filtration, water treatment, and humid or corrosive environments.
- 316L stainless steel mesh caps have lower carbon content and are suitable for welded or deep-drawn filter cap structures. They are often selected for applications requiring better corrosion resistance after forming, welding, or long-term use in chemical and marine environments.
- Other Stainless Steel Grades: 310S, 2205, 2507, 904L, and other stainless steel grades can be selected for high-temperature, strong corrosion, or special industrial applications. Material selection can be customized according to working temperature, filtration medium, and equipment requirements.
Design Features
- Precision Mesh: Available in various mesh sizes (10-500 mesh) to effectively filter particles of different sizes, ensuring efficient contaminant removal while maintaining proper fluid flow.
- Ergonomic Shape: Common shapes include domed, conical, and cylindrical, which maximize the filtration area and fit tightly over the openings of equipment to prevent unfiltered fluid from bypassing.
- Reinforced Edges: The edges are often reinforced by rolling, flanging, or welding, enhancing the structural stability of the cap and facilitating secure installation.
- Diverse Connections: Options include threaded connections, slip-fit designs, and bolt-on flanges to accommodate different pipe sizes (1/4″ to 12″ diameter) and installation requirements.
- Sturdy Construction: The mesh is firmly attached to the metal frame, ensuring the cap can withstand pressure, vibration, and impact without deformation or damage.
